Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of CodeVox (the “Software”) and the codevox.io website (the “Site”). By installing the Software, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms.
1. License grant
CodeVox is licensed, not sold. Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, CodeVox grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software for your own use.
2. Per-license device limit
A single CodeVox license entitles the licensee to install and use the Software on up to three (3) Macs they personally own or control. Sharing accounts, license credentials, or activations across multiple individuals is not permitted. If you retire or sell a Mac, you are responsible for signing out of CodeVox on that machine before transferring it.
3. Privacy
The Software performs all speech recognition locally on your device. No audio, transcription content, or clipboard data is transmitted off-device under any circumstance. Behavioral analytics are opt-in (off by default); crash reporting is opt-out (on by default but toggleable in Preferences) and is limited to OS version, app version, and redacted stack data. 4. Subscription and payment
CodeVox is sold as a monthly subscription of US$7.77 per month, billed through our payment processor (Stripe, via Clerk). Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period already paid for, after which the Software reverts to the free tier. We will give at least 30 days notice by email before any price change takes effect, and a change never applies retroactively to time you have already paid for.
5. Free trial and refunds
Every account includes a 14-day full-access free trial that requires no payment details. The trial is how you evaluate CodeVox before subscribing, and you can cancel a subscription at any time, so we do not offer a standing refund policy for partial billing periods. If something has gone wrong with a charge, email support@codevox.io from the email address on the account and a human will review it case by case.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Software except where permitted by applicable law; (b) remove or obscure proprietary notices; (c) use the Software to transcribe content you do not have a lawful right to process; (d) use the Software in any way that violates applicable law.
7. Intellectual property
All right, title, and interest in the Software, the Site, and related materials are and will remain the exclusive property of CodeVox and its licensors. The speech recognition model is distributed under its own license and is bundled with the Software for your convenience.
8. Disclaimer
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. CodeVox does not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that transcription accuracy will meet any particular standard.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CodeVox’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Software will not exceed the amount you paid to CodeVox in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the liability. CodeVox will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Software if you materially breach these Terms. You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling it. Sections 5 through 11 survive termination.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Site with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Software after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
